I value deep connections. Even if we only meet for a moment, my desire is for you to walk away feeling seen. Because of this, I give careful attention to things that most people overlook or don’t have a sensitivity toward (a personal commitment to looking beneath the surface). I thought this was just a habit or a learned survival skill, then grew to acknowledge this as a gift. Namely, the gift of discerning of spirits referenced in 1 Corinthians 12. It’s customary to get excited about gifts (all kinds of gifts, not just spiritual ones), but they often come with responsibility.
Our responsibility, in season and out of season, is to maintain (or obtain) purity of heart. When our heart is surrendered to God (the God of the Bible), our impact is different; it’s lasting… it’s transformational. But the posture of the heart of often the first thing we choose to disregard when we pursue business. I know you’ve heard it, “It’s not personal, it’s business.”
What if I reminded you that it’s all personal? Just because it’s personal doesn’t mean it’s offensive, rather relevant. All of you matters. Your success, your momentum… is a direct reflection of what you choose to look at. Let’s take a look together—a propositional perspective. It’s time for you to move forward, to produce the fruit of purpose, and that your fruit should remain (according to John 15).
